Summer Camps – Make friends from around the world

Summer camp are supervised programmes for children and/or teenagers conducted (usually) during the summer months in some countries. A8 Offers summer camps in France, Spain and Italy and these camps have a language learning element to them . Our camps in UK, Malta and Ireland focus on English language learners and are intended for students from a none English speaking background. We offer more specialist opportunities in both Canada and USA, with a focus on sports and development for older children.

Evolving Traditions

The traditional view of a summer camp as a woody place with hiking, canoeing, and campfires has evolved, with greater acceptance of newer summer camps that offer a wide variety of specialised activities but not only that, ‘camps’ are mostly located in comfortable supervised residences – allowing the opportunity for both indoor and outdoor activities. Very often these are held in the self containment of a University Campus, allowing you the opportunity to get a feel for the living conditions of a University student. All accommodation is supervised by group leaders and teachers over 24 hours.
Today, there are camps for the performing arts, music, computers, language learning, and sports such as sailing , football and rugby. In 2006, the American Camp Association reported that 75 percent of camps added new programs.

Personal Development

Whatever the focus of your ‘camp’ you will have an excellent opportunity to learn and also to develop personally.

Many of the skills you will develop, will be invaluable throughout your personal and working life. For example; Leadership and team building, working with others, communication and decision making.
So whether you are seeking a educational or developmental opportunity we have the opportunity for you.
