Students shine ‘Down Under’

Students from around the world choose to study at Challenger Institute of Technology located in Western Australia (WA) for a safe and exciting learning experience. WA is an ideal study location with an average of eight hours of sunshine every day, world class education, friendly hospitality and cultural diversity.
Challenger Institute of Technology offers over 50 courses across seven campuses in a range of fields such as engineering, maritime, business, fashion and hospitality, just to name a few. Our courses are approved by industry to lead to relevant careers with excellent job prospects.

Indian student Elton J Rosario successfully completed his 2nd officer maritime studies at Challenger Institute of Technology in 2005. Elton recently returned to Challenger Institute to pursue Chief and Master maritime qualifications. Elton said the Challenger lecturers have always taken the initiative to make things better and easier for students.

“The course is designed in such a way to enhance practical and theoretical learning,” Elton said.

“The assignments, mock tests and well-equipped simulators help students immensely to prepare for the exams and oral tests. Highly cooperative staff, a friendly atmosphere and cultural diversity make Challenger’s WA Training Maritime Centre the best place to study.”

Jeff Vaughan came from the United Kingdom to pursue a career in green keeping. Jeff completed a Certificate 3 in Horticulture (turf) and a Diploma in Irrigation at Challenger Institute of Technology.

Having not been in an educational establishment for some years Jeff said he was a little apprehensive about what to expect, but soon settled in to how he describes ‘a well balanced and prepared curriculum.’

“The campus has a very relaxed atmosphere with easy access to course related material via a well stocked library and internet services,” Jeff said.

“An onsite coordinator provides help and advice to students on all educational matters as well as immigration concerns. The teachers have valuable industry experience and the subjects are taught in a manner that everyone can understand.

Jeff Vaughan is now a qualified green keeper thanks to Challenger Institute.
“The course has enabled me to become a qualified green keeper working at one of the most respected golf courses in Western Australia as well as being able to run my own business preparing, establishing and maintaining fine turf surfaces.

“I really enjoyed the courses and have made some good friends within the teaching staff and fellow students. It is important to embrace the Australian way of life as you will then be adopted very quickly and will soon become part of this wonderful way of life.”

When Chola Nkaka, from Zambia, first started her hospitality course at Challenger Institute of Technology she had little confidence and self belief.

Chola said she received a lot of support from her lecturers and tutors at Challenger Institute and as a result gained much needed confidence in herself and her abilities.

“I have gained a lot of knowledge from my lecturers, which has helped me meet my study requirements,” Chola said.

“The lecturers are so kind, patient and professional and they will always take the time to explain anything I don’t understand. Having this encouragement has motivated me to study hard and keep up with all of my studies.

“I have also made a lot of friends from different cultures – it has been a great experience for me.”
