Netherlands –Do you want to become an expert in coastal protection or water management ?


HZ University of Applied Sciences is the institute of higher professional education in the Dutch province of Zeeland, and the University’s water management programme is unique.

It is located on the beautiful Zeeland coastline. HZ offers proven quality of education: the greater part of our
study programmes ranks among the top ten of the Netherlands!

Around 4000 students study here and approximately 300 of them come from abroad. We offer a personal and informal setting in which you are the one who sets the course. We offer all the possibilities and accommodations for you to study successfully and enjoy yourself at the same time.

University

We do everything we can to offer high quality education and this is simply not possible without good
facilities. Modern facilities. The HZ has modern provisions at its disposal, including lecture halls and
laboratories, which all boast excellent equipment. The interactive information network InfoNet also
contributes to an optimal study environment. The HZ is very progressive where ICT is
concerned. In addition to the above provisions, we also have a bookshop, a hairdressing salon
and a student employment agency.

Studying with a disability. The HZ has a number of facilities for students with a disability. These include specially adapted toilets, an arrangement for students with dyslexia, available areas for students
with diabetes, adjustments during examinations, etc. Feel free to contact the student counsellor if you
have any questions whatsoever. Courses Offered 4 year bachelor programmes (although highly motivated students can achieve this in 3 years):

Applied Chemistry, International Business and Management Studies, Water Management

Accommodation

Foreign students who decide to study at HZ might want to find accommodation in Vlissingen. You can contact us to find temporary accommodation. One of Vlissingen’s advantages is that housing is easier to find and more
affordable than in other student towns. Most students live in a student house in or near the city centre which is at biking distance from the university and walking distance from the beautifulboulevard.

Types of accommodation.

We may be able to offer you a room at “The Ruyter Campus” or at “L’Escaut campus” for the duration
of five or ten months. A different period can be negotiated within reasonable limits. In these completely renovated 2 or 3 bedrooms appartments, an internet connection will be provided. The accommodation
offered is furnished and the rent is generally all-inclusive. In these student accommodation, you will have shared kitchen and bathroom facilities.
